Areas of Expertise
With over 25 years of working in this field, I have a wide range of experience in general counselling practice, while also specialising in specific areas such as relationships counselling. Here is an overview of areas where we can work together and my approach.

Individual Counselling
Expert Relationship and Individual Counselling Services
I offer one-on-one sessions working with depression, anxiety, worry, fear, grief and loss, life changes, decision-making and any other issues you might have.
I see people not as problems to be solved but as rainbows to be discovered. By understanding the core of human suffering, which is common to all of us, I use a transdiagnostic model, where there are key processes to address, manage and cope with the full range of complex human issues.
Couples Counselling
Expert Counselling Services for Couples
My approach to couples counselling involves examining your responses and reactions to the relationship. I can work with an individual, a couple, or a group. You don’t always need both parties in the relationship to make a difference; working with an individual can, too. Self-knowledge and awareness help you communicate better and apply workable skills to your relationship.
Supervision
Professional Supervision and Support for Mental Health Practitioners
Supervision is an opportunity for you to take time to reflect, learn, and be supported in all aspects of your work. I work from acceptance and strength-based models and engage in the search for new options to discover the learning that often emerges from the most difficult situations. I see people as ‘A’ Students following the work of Stone Zander and his philosophy referenced below.
” The Practice of giving an A transports your relationships from the world of measurement to the world of possibility… When you give an A, you find yourself speaking to people not from a place of measuring how they stack up against your standards, but from a place that gives them room to realise themselves. The A is not an expectation to live up to but a possibility to live into.” (Stone Zander & Zander, 2000: 26)
Mindfulness
Mindfulness Techniques for Emotional Wellness
Mindfulness is the ability to be in and notice what’s going on in the present moment with openness and curiosity. It is a fundamental skill to help with human behaviour, and it equips you with foundational skills for coping with and responding to emotions.
I use mindfulness throughout all of my sessions and I can teach specific skills if requested.
The benefits of mindfulness have been researched throughout the world now for many years and have been proven to work and make a difference in our lives.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Transform Your Life with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
ACT encourages you to embrace and accept your thoughts and feelings without judgment, while committing to actions aligned with your values and helps you to stay focused on the present moment.
It helps to increase psychological flexibility, which means being able to handle difficult emotions and thoughts without letting them control your behaviour. ACT aims to help you live a meaningful life by focusing on what truly matters to you and taking action towards those values, even when facing challenges.
ACT Detailed Breakdown
Acceptance
ACT encourages you to accept your thoughts and feelings, even the unpleasant ones, without trying to change or control them.
Mindfulness

Values
